Position Summary: 

The Public Relations Coordinator will assist with expanding national awareness of the National Inventors Hall of Fame programs. S/he will manage will develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the programs to successfully disseminate their value and messaging to a broad audience through an ongoing public relations and communications strategy. 

Position Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for supporting the media relations and brand awareness activities for the National Inventors Hall of Fame programs 

• Create and maintain relationships with the media to ensure that news pertaining to NIHF programs are being shared with their respective audiences 

• Oversee the company’s clip files and provide assistance to the Marketing team in preparing reports and sharing these details with our internal audiences 

• Assist in coordinating and hosting press events for all aspects of the company 

• Manage corporate newsletters and other internal communications 

• Write and edit news releases, fact sheets, articles and content and/or assist with gathering social media content 

• Research innovative technologies and proactively identify strategic media opportunities 

• Assist with establishment of metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure the success of communication strategies and tactics 

• Coordinate news media and photo shoots 

• Assist with project planning and content generation 

• Work directly with media contacts to fulfill requests 

• Work in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Manager in developing public relations strategic planning 

• Support the Marketing team with other duties as needed 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Impeccable communication skills, written and verbal 

• Excellent editing, proofreading and project management experience with attention to detail 

• Must be flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask 

• Willingness to go the extra mile 

Credentials and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications or related field
