Shift Information: Day Job

  • Responsible for shaping the overall governance and content for the intranet and make recommendations to senior leaders to ensure an overarching positive user experience and standardization of content.
  • Work with the internal communications team to create and manage all content and IS team to identify opportunities for new platform features.
  • Identify, recommend and prioritize new intranet features and applications in conjunction with the Manager Internal Communications.
  • Counsel departments and internal project teams on specific initiatives and projects, identifying the best solutions for achieving specific department and organizational goals.
  • Assist users and administrators on the use of the intranet and collaboration tools.
  • Develop and execute an adoption strategy for knowledge management to increase online collaboration and information sharing across the hospital system.
  • Provide guidance on the effective use of wikis, blogs, and community creation and identify and engage advocates.
  • Analyze, review and report on the effectiveness of new intranet initiatives and with Information Services and others, participate in setting intranet development strategy.
  • Work with I.S. on the diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems with existing applications and communication of solutions to appropriate areas.
  • Work with the governance committee, oversee intranet content and functionality.
  • Stay abreast of intranet trends and practices by participating in continuing education programs and professional organizations and reading current literature.

 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field required.  Minimum of five (5) years related PR/Corporate Communications and SharePoint experience required.  Excellent written and oral communications skills. Experience with a corporate intranet with a preference for site development and implementation.   Project management related experience.  Ability to multi task and prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Ability to take basic idea and turn it into a detailed specification. Ability to navigate a complex organization and involve key stakeholders as necessary to improve the overall intranet user experience. Ability to influence and engage key stakeholders to promote governance across the corporate intranet. Customer service and results oriented. Knowledge of SharePoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office products, etc.
